2026 CrossFit 8 Mile Intramural Open
It’s that time of year!! The Open is approaching, and FAST
What is The Open?
The Open is a global CrossFit competition that marks the first step on the road to the CrossFit Games. But at CrossFit 8 Mile, it’s much more than that, it’s our biggest community event of the year. Over the past 8years, more than 100 members have joined in to make it an unforgettable experience.
This year, The Open consists of one workout per week for three weeks.
What is The Intramural Open?
For most of us who aren’t competing in the CrossFit Games, the Intramural Open is all about having fun, challenging ourselves, and celebrating our community. Every participant in the Intramural Open gets drafted onto a team, making it a fun and inclusive event for everyone.
This is for EVERYONE. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just starting out, you can join in. Each workout includes a scaled option, so all skill levels can participate and earn points for their team. Scaled workouts score the same points as RX (prescribed) workouts, so everyone has an equal chance to contribute.
Everyone who signs up will be drafted onto a team. Three teams will compete over three weeks, earning points and fighting for CrossFit 8 Mile bragging rights.
Friday Night Lights
Even if you’re not officially participating, you can still join the fun! The CrossFit Open workouts will be programmed for all classes on Fridays, but the real magic happens during Friday Night Lights, starting at 6 PM.
Expect taped-off lanes, roaring team spirit, and an electric atmosphere as we run heats throughout the evening.
What’s the Cost?
- For just $25, you’ll get:
- Week 4 banquet
- Team shirt
- Professional photos taken and shared from each FNL
- Trophies, prizes, and giveaways
Join us for The Open and experience the thrill of friendly competition, community support, and all the fun that makes CrossFit 8 Mile special. Let’s make this year’s event the best one yet!

If you’re late to the party and sign up after the draft, it's not too late! All athletes who sign up after draft night will be put into another pool and will be drafted before the first workout kicks off. You’ll miss out on a shirt, but you’ll still be on the team to help their chances of winning
First workout released Feb 26th, First Friday of the Open is Feb 27th!!
As this is the 8th year of doing the Intramural Open, every year we’ve had a team pick a black shirt for their team color, and they have won! So this year we decided to make it a “Captains Cup” and pick 3 of those previous black team winners to face off and captain your teams this year! As they’ve won in the past, they clearly know what they are doing.
Team Captains:
Chris Yoon: Ninjas With Attitude (Blue)
Beth Mancuso: Mom’s Spaghetti (Red)
