Why Do You Continue To Do Crossfit?
I continue cross fit because I feel great (and exhausted) after each workout. Also, during each workout, I see small improvements that are beginning to add up to a better overall fitness condition for myself. Another reason I continue is the coaches and my fellow athletes inspire me to keep coming back for the next challenge. Everyone is so encouraging and helpful to me and each other. It’s a great environment to work out and better yourself.
Favorite Movements:
I don’t feel that I have a favorite or least favorite movement. I would describe it more as a love / hate relationship with a movement. I hate full body movements like wall balls, burpees, pull ups and the (dreaded) Echo bike. But, after finishing the movements, I’m sometimes surprised that I was able to land on my feet, jump up from a burpee or two or I got a few more wall balls in before becoming totally gassed out. At times it seems that the hardest things are the most rewarding of all.
Goals:
My goals depend on who’s asking: my wife, doctor or myself. Generally speaking, I need to get my weight down. But I also want to feel better in the mornings and be more energetic throughout the day. From a cross fit perspective, I think developing the physical and mental endurance to continue on when completely gassed is the goal. That, and achieving a muscle up. That would be quite the accomplishment…
